Tales from the Crosstimbers is a quarterly periodical that will publish short fiction and related articles. A small group of authors living in Oklahoma serves as curators and owners.
Our primary purpose is to provide a place for local and regional authors to publish their work, although we are open to submissions from all authors and locations. We are a diverse group, and especially encourage submissions from members of minorities and under-represented groups. Most of us write speculative fiction, including science fiction, horror, fantasy, and slipstream, but some of us have dabbled in other genres as well.
We anticipate publishing both electronic and print issues quarterly, with the print edition available on Amazon. We expect to publish roughly ten stories per issue, along with one or two non-fiction articles related to various aspects of the craft of writing.
We anticipate our inaugural call for submissions will be July 1, 2024, with the first issue appearing not later than the fourth quarter of 2024.
